A Line Driver is a clean and efficient deck part whose purpose is to support mainsheet traveller adjustment. It works by connection to a traveller in a closed circuit and it does the job of moving the traveller port and starboard without a winch. The control system is connected to a traveller on a closed circuit and ensures efficient control and a clean layout for systems such as a mainsail sheet.
Line drivers mount a self tailing sheave which operates in both directions with a textile "gripping" system that is efficient even if the circuit is not under strain and causes no wear in the rope. Antal realises two types of line driver: manual and powered.
