PROtect Tapes Chafe

PROtect CHAFE is a pressure sensitive tape using ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) film with a strong modified acrylic adhesive.

The result is a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made. It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals with the exception to oxidising acid.

It has extremely low moisture absorption and very low coefficient of friction, is self-lubricating and is highly resistant to abrasion (15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel).

- under the boom to protect it from spinnaker/gennaker sheet
- around the pad eyes for blocks and hardware
