The range of soft attachment blocks is growing with the release of the new 20mm Ti3 block.
The A2020Ti3 has been developed by the Allen design team for the paragliding and kiting industries but the team believe it will also trickle down into the marine sector.
Graham Adams, Head of International Business Development, commented “The paragliding industry required a high performance, small and reliable soft attachment block. Unfortunately, our current 20mm Tii block didn’t cut it for them as they required something that was more suitable for attaching with webbing strap. So, we developed the A2020Ti3 to suit their needs. However, when testing the Ti3 we quickly realised the design was so much easier to splice and thread rope around.”
Featuring a wider opening at the top of the block and flatter sides has resulted in the A2020Ti3 being simpler to thread rope around. The block still fits in the same footprint as the older A2020Tii and makes use of the same three sheave options which are tried and tested across the 20mm range.
Plain bearing A2020PTi3 – The cheapest solution available and suitable for applications which don’t require maximum friction reduction, such as low load take up lines or non-dynamic controls.
Weighing only 7 grams
Dynamic bearing A2020Ti3 – Utilising the Allen patented dynamic bearing technology of twin rows of stainless-steel balls running on a stainless rail.
This option offers the best performance to weight ratio available from 20mm blocks on the market.
Weighing only 8 grams.
High Load A2020Ti3HL – Featuring a stainless-steel sheave and the Allen patented dynamic bearing technology results in maximum performance and longevity as well as the capability of working with wire.
